About the Author

Dana Copeland was born and raised in Florida and has spent more than 13 years as an educator. Her love for Egypt began in third grade after completing a class project on Africa, sparking a fascination with a country rich in ancient wonders, culture, and history. From that moment on, she dreamed of one day experiencing Egypt for herself.

In 2015, that dream became reality. Despite questions about her timing, Dana felt called to take a leap of faith, especially after the birth of her oldest niece. She wanted to model courage, curiosity, and faith for her nieces, showing them what it looks like to pursue your calling wholeheartedly. She found an international school where she could teach, packed her bags without knowing anyone, and moved across the world.

Dana went on to live and teach in Egypt for four years, an experience that shaped her both personally and professionally. It remains one of the most meaningful chapters of her life, and she hopes to one day return there again.

Through her first book, Dana invites young readers to discover Egypt alongside her. She hopes her story sparks curiosity, a love of learning, and the courage to explore the world, encouraging children to find places and passions that inspire them to learn, dream, and grow.
